The Boeing aircraft company is the most famous American multinational aerospace and defense firm of the world and the company’s headquarter is located in Chicago. The company was established in 1916 by the William E. Boeing in Washington. The Boeing Company has achieved the enormous corporate growth and widely considered as the one of the biggest aircraft manufacturer of the world. The Boeing Company merged with the McDonnell Douglas in 1997 which is its rival corporation. The number of employees in the company is more than 165,000 and the company total assets are US $ 80 billion.
The first trademark used by the Boeing is the vertical winged Boeing “totem” which was designed in 1928 as used as the symbol of airline services and it’s continue to appear on the Boeing aircrafts through 1930s. The totem was change with the new trademark such as the word of “Boeing” in the Stratotype letters. The Stretotype was designed at Boeing by an artist and was initially appeared on the Boeing Model 377 Stratocruiser and it was only used for the Boeing logotype. After several years the logo was redrawn, modified and uses in the several ways.
The casual use of the Stratotype starts to grind down the image of Boeing logotype. It was returned to its original shape in 1988 and it Stratotype alphabet is exclusively reserved for the Boeing aircraft. Rick Eiber joined the Boeing Company and created a new symbol that was inspired and derived from the Douglas logo. The both Boeing logotype and the Boeing symbol together makes the company mark.
