In 1966 the group of the seventeen bankers set down an organization for the greatest purpose of the mutual acceptance of their credit cards. It was first name as the “interbank” and it’s also introduced as the corporate logo. The previous version of the MasterCard is known as the “Master Charge” that was disclose in 1969. The MasterCard logo was consisting of the 2 simple intersecting circles that featured with the tagline of “We Honor the Interbank Card”. The symbol “I” is still appeared in the logo at the bottom right corner in the smaller size that shows the continuity of the brand previous image.
In 1979 the “Master Charge” replace with the MasterCard and the symbol “i” was removed from the logo.
In 1990 a much bolder, more identical and contemporary system are introduced by the MasterCard. The mark was consist of the two overlap circles and the overlap area is consists of the 23 horizontal lines and it was uses in Sans-Serif and Italic typeface.
